The Bellwood-Antis  baseball team (6-3) took a tough loss to the very good, and undefeated Mount Union Trojans (9-0) yesterday at home, losing 17-5 in three innings.

B-A started down 2-0 by the end of the first inning, and quickly fell a part after giving up 10 runs in the 2nd inning, putting them down 12-0.

After giving up another 5 runs in the top of the 3rd inning, BA had to kick it in gear. It was during this time when the bats started to come alive, where senior Nick Kost and junior Zach Pier were both able to cross home plate giving the Devils, but that just wasn’t enough and the game came to an end thanks to the 15-run mercy rule.

Chris Walls took the loss for the Devils, pitching 1 1/3 innings. He allowed 11 earned runs on 8 hits. Kost, Pier, and Tanner Swogger had B-A’s only its.

B-A will host Moshannon Valley (2-7) at home on Thursday as they look to advance to 7-3 on the season. With plenty of games left, the season is still looking bright for the boys after this minor setback.
