The Bellwood-Antis chorus will have to wait a couple of weeks to perform its concert after a power outage on Sunday forced a postponement of the original date.

An early afternoon power outage on Sunday caused the high school chorus concert to be postponed, and ultimately rescheduled.

The new date is set for Sunday, May 21, at 5:00 pm in the auditorium and the doors open to the public at 4:30 p.m.

The decision to cancel this past Sunday’s show was “very much last minute,” said high school chorus director, Mr. Zachary Spaw. “Students were prepared to have the concert in the high school lobby despite the unfortunate circumstances.”

However, Mr. Spaw and high school principal, Mr. Richard Schreier, decided to postpone due to safety concerns.

Mr. Spaw was “definitely disheartened” as he observed the power outage, but is hopeful that the new date and time will work for all members of chorus.

“[Hopefully] the seniors can still have their last hurrah,” Mr. Spaw said.

Even with the inconvenience of rescheduling, Mr. Spaw is glad to have extra time to work on and perfect the concert pieces.

Once again, for those who wish to attend the concert, the show is now on May 21st at 5:00 pm in the auditorium.
