The Bellwood-Antis Blue Devil boys’ basketball team is at it again!

Last night the Blue Devils played a tough game against the undefeated West Branch Warriors at the Bellwood-Antis gym.

The game ended with a Blue Devil 83-74 victory.

The Blue Devils were ahead 43-40 at halftime after Nathan Davis had 13 points in the second quarter.

The Blue Devils made the score 65-53 at the end of the third quarter.

Davis was on fire last night scoring 36 points.

When asked about how he felt about being the top scorer on the team Davis said, “It was nice that my shots were falling, but my teammates really made the difference.  I could go through naming everyone that contributed to the win, but that would be pointless.  Everyone helped, played with confidence, and had fun last night.”

Junior Jake Burch helped out too with 14 points. Burch had some good thoughts on the game. He said, “It was a hard fought win.  Coach told us we needed to play nearly perfect for four quarters and limit our mistakes, and that’s exactly what we did.”

Sophomore Jarrett Tanneyhill scored 10 and 3 block shots.

The Blue Devils are now 5-1.

Davis had overall positive thoughts on the game.  He said, “It was a great win for us; personally, it was the most fun game I have ever played in.  Everybody played so well, and this gives us confidence moving forward.”

Burch also provided some advice for the team.  He said, “We need to remain level-headed and get back to work in preparation for a stretch of tough games coming up.”

Davis said that the student section was a lot of the help and support as well.

“Blue Devil Nation was amazing too, a real difference maker,” he said.
