Trinity Riva recently stared in the ACT Production of Matilda!

Trinity Riva is a senior at Bellwood-Antis, and outside of participating in choir, she participates in the Altoona Community Theatre.

The group’s latest production is Matilda, and Trinity stars in the teen ensemble!

The production is about a little girl named Matilda who is discarded and belittled by her parents. She has psychokinesis and uses it along with her sharp imagination to get rid of her life’s problems with the help of her teacher, Miss Honey.

My favorite part about musicals is getting to dance while singing and then perfecting it so that once you perform it and have all of the adrenaline, the crowd appreciates all of your hard work with their cheers and claps,” Trinity said.

Trinity acts and participates in theatre because she’s done it her whole life.

“I find so much peace and love in the activity,” she responded.

She has faced many hardships in her acting career, such as volunteering and figuring out logistics with the cast and crew and figuring out how to put everything together behind the scenes.

Outside of Bellwood, Trinity prticipated in many Sparkle shows at the Mishler when she was younger. She landed her first big role in P&J’s production of Les Misérables as Young Cosette. She also acted in Oliver this past May at the Mishler as well.

Last spring, she had a starring role in the Bellwood-Antis production of Grease, playing the part of Jan. Her performance won her an Isaac Award last spring for Best Performance in a Female Role.

Congratulations to the cast and crew of Matilda for their successes!
