What’s Cookin’?

Episode 5: Christmas Cookies
Festive%2C+hungry+students+ready+to+devour+some+Christmas+cookies.
Miss Harris
Festive, hungry students ready to devour some Christmas cookies.

Yesterday in home economics, students made Christmas cookies. Some different types of cookies made were frosted sugar cookies, snickerdoodles, peanut butter blossoms, and chocolate chip.

The frosted sugar cookies turned out alright. They weren’t bad at all, but they also weren’t the best cookies I’ve ever had by any means.  They were very sweet, and after a cookie or two you would feel sick. They were also a little harder than I would’ve liked. A frosted sugar cookie should be light and fluffy like a cloud. Any crunch is just unacceptable. Mr. Hallahan gave them a taste test and thought they were pretty good. He said, “I’m not going to give them a rating today, but if I were to, 8.4/10.”

The best cookie that I tried was the snickerdoodle, made by Jordan Hescox, Olivia Hess, Jase Hostler, and Noah Larson. Every factor about this cookie was beyond excellent. The flavor was perfect, and it felt so soft in your mouth. I would give it a rating of 9.1/10. Next week, students will be making different types of fudge.
