With the holiday season coming up, a lot of students here in Bellwood-Antis high school are looking forward to the cafeteria’s scrumptious turkey. However, the students have been fooled. The famous turkey has been a ham this entire time.
“We didn’t want people to know,” said an anonymous lunch lady, “I mean, who has ham for thanksgiving? They need to give us a bigger budget.”
The school is currently scrambling to get an authentic turkey since this news came out, with some teachers even offering to take a pay cut. They fear student rebellion for lying to them about what they serve.
”I expected nothing less, but I fully respect the lunch ladies and the work they put in,” said senior Zach Gonzalez.
The struggling grocery store; Hometown Market, has offered to give them enough turkey as long as Bellwood lets them hang up advertising in the school. Believing it would be beneficial to both parties.
The school is determined to make this Thanksgiving feast will be the best they’ve ever had, and plan on not failing the students again. Looking forward, they hope that the students and community will forgive them and trust their food to the fullest extent.
