At the beginning of November, Bellwood-Antis started mini-THON’ s Movember Mustache competition. This is where teachers have the opportunity to compete for the best mustache to raise money for the Four Diamonds and the fight against childhood cancer.
The race is now down to five teachers and will be narrowed to two by Friday.
Teachers who are still in are Mr. Schreier, Mr. Rhone, Mr. Partner, Mr. Elder, and Mr. McNaul.
Teachers voted out are Mr. Wood, Mr. Hallahan, Mr. Stewart, Mr. Plummer, Mr. Lovrich, and Mr. Frye.
Students vote every day at lunch for their favorite by donating to that teacher’s can. This is a first-of-its-kind fundraiser for the mini-THON committee.
“I’m anxious to see who moves on after the final cut on Friday,” said Mr. Hallahan, one of he faculty advisors of mini-THPN along with Mr. Elder. “We have some great competitors left and guys with facial hair experience. We even have the high school newcomer Mr. Partner still hanging around. It will be interesting to see who brings home the beard hardware after Monday’s championship round. I really want to see our students showing support for the finalists and the Movember cause by donating and wearing their mustaches throughout the school days on Friday and Monday. Good luck to all the finalists.”
Every Monday and Friday, teachers are eliminated based on the amount of money they have collected until eventually mini-THON gets down the top 2 best mustaches.
As an added incentive, this Friday organizers will be giving away stick-on mustaches with every 1$ donation, so make sure to go donate and get a free stache!
The same procedure will take place on Monday and the, after lunch, the winner will be announced and rewarded with a trophy.
