The 23rd Annual Susquehanna University Honors Band Festival was held on February 20-22, 2015. This is an event developed for the purpose of recognizing the achievements of excellent high school musicians.

The Honors Band Festival Concert was held on February 22 at Weber Chapel Auditorium.

Three BA students went to this festival. These students are sophomore Katie Hamer playing baritone saxophone, and senior Curt Messner and junior Revel Southwell, both playing trumpet.

Both Southwell and Messner had also recently played at the PMEA Region 3 band festival.

This festival provides a thrilling musical experience for the students.

“It was a fun experience and I got to meet new people,” said Katie Hamer.

Revel Southwell said, “Well it was surely new experience. Much different than your average PMEA festival. It was a lot more laid back and you got to stay in the actual dorms, which was fun. At any festival you go to, you’re always going to gain some kind of musical knowledge and experience, and Susquehanna only proved that point further.”
