The Bellwood-Antis Blue Devil boys’ basketball team has been doing extremely well and has gotten a lot better since last year, when it finished 5-17.

Although they lost the District Semifinals against the West Branch Warriors, they are continuing into state playoffs with a record of 20-7 to fulfill the goal of becoming state champions.

On Saturday, the Blue Devils will travel to Clarion to take on the RedBank Valley Bulldogs, who are District 9 Champions.  The Blue Devils know their season is not over and they still have to work hard and play their hearts out.

This is the first time the Blue Devils are taking on the Bulldogs, and B-A has some virtuous stats to back them up.  Overall the Blue Devils average about 67 points per game.

Nathan Davis seems to be the Blue Devil you have to watch out for the most.  Davis averages about 25 points and 9 rebounds per game.

Jake Burch is another Blue Devil who needs to be watched.  Burch averages about 10 points and 4 rebounds per game. Joey Padula averages about 9 points and 7 rebounds per game.  Ethan McGee averages about 9 points and 3 rebounds per game.

The Bulldogs have some good stats as well, averaging about 57 points per game overall.

Jake Dougherty seems to be the Bulldog with the biggest bite.  Dougherty averages double figures, scoring an average of about 17 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Devin Shumaker is the other Bulldog to watch.  Shumaker averages about 12 points and 4 rebounds per game.

The winner of this state playoff game will continue on to face the winner between West Branch and Mercyhurst Prep.
