The Bellwood Junior High Softball team worked hard throughout the 2025 season, building on the legacy of past success. With the 2024 Blue Devil team finishing an impressive 18-0, this year’s squad had big shoes to fill—and they rose to the challenge with dedication and heart.
Practicing five days a week, Monday through Friday, the team was divided into A and B squads and included 23 committed players. Coaches Ali Stinson and Dave Staudart made it a priority to ensure that every player gained valuable playing time and experience on the field.
We caught up with two student-athletes to hear their thoughts on the season. Lainey Stinson, a right-handed pitcher, shared, “My hope was to just be a good team and work together.” She added, “I wanted to build friendships that will last forever.”
Jenna Walker, who played second base, echoed those sentiments. “My hope for the season was to improve as a team and as a player, and to build friendships,” she said. “My favorite part about playing softball is the friends I make along the way.”
The team faced their first loss since the 2023 season in a close 2-1 game against Bellefonte Junior High. Despite the setback, the players remain focused on improving their skills—working hard on fielding, hitting, and game situations to finish the season strong.
A big thank you to everyone who supported the Bellwood Junior High Softball team this year. Your encouragement means everything to our athletes!
