Cory Parson has become the Blue Devil’s go-to pitcher behind Chad Leunsmann.

Last Thursday night Cory Parson pitched a no-hitter against the Glendale Vikings.

He followed it up with a pretty decent game. This Thursday Parson pitched a perfect game in the Blue Devils’ 15-0 win over Moshannon Valley.

The Blue Devil baseball team is 6-0 so far this baseball season, and Parson has three pitching victories.

For his incredible efforts he is the Blueprint’s athlete of the week.

How did you get involved with baseball?

Parson: My dad and pap have worked with me for as long as I can remember.

What do you provide for your team?

Parson: A solid and reliable second pitching option.

Were you expecting to pitch a no hitter?

Parson: I didn’t think anyone expects it but I felt great, my team had my back and made some great plays to help me achieve my no hitter.

What other positions do you play?

Parson: No other positions.

How do you think your season is going so far?

Parson: I couldn’t ask for a better start to the season, it’s going so well.

What do you do in the off season?

Parson: I train every day in order to get better. Baseball never stops for me.

If you participate in a summer league which do you prefer?

Parson: I prefer school ball more because it’s a bit more fun and organized.
