The Bellwood-Antis Blue Devil baseball team’s win over Mount Union Trojans Thursday puts them in the driver’s seat to win the ICC championship.

Chad Luensmann pitched six innings of no-hit ball. Trenton Creppage went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI’s to lead the Blue Devils in their 5-1 win  in an ICC North Division game.  The Blue Devils already beat Mount Union on March 31st in an ICC game with a 6-3 victory.

The Blue Devils’ record is now 11-3 overall.

“I feel really good about the win last night. It was a solid team win and it has us going in the right direction.  It feels great to get a win down there and gives us momentum moving forward,” said Luensmann.

In the first inning Bellwood-Antis got one run.  They got another run in the third inning followed by three more runs in the fourth inning.

Joey Padula doubled and drove in two runs for Bellwood-Antis.  The Trojan’s only hit off Luensmann was on Trevon Walker’s single in the seventh inning.

The Blue Devils had 4 RBI’s: 2 from Padula, 2 from Creppage, and one from Luensmann. Luensmann had 8 strike outs.

“It is really important for us to continue advancing in the ICC. Winning the ICC North was our first goal and eventually the entire ICC and last night’s win really put us in the driver’s seat to control our own fate,” said Luensmann.

The Bellwood-Antis Blue Devil softball team had a rough game as the Mount Union Trojans slipped by them 9-8.

Saige McElwain hit a three-run homer for the Lady Blue Devils.  The Blue Devils also got two hits each from Jacqueline Finn and Anna Wolfe, who is now just one hit away from No. 100 for her career.

Jacqueline Finn had two hits against the Lady Trojans but it wasn't enough to get the Devils over the hump.
