Friday, February 27, marked the 3rd consecutive annual mini thon event at Bellwood-Antis. The event raised $32,706.81 dollars for the families of those diagnosed with cancer. That beat last year’s total of $25,011.57. To get in, students either bought a mini-thon T-shirt in the weeks leading up to mini-thon or paid a $ 10 entrance fee. Their admission to the event also included a ticket that students could put into a raffle for gift cards to Sheetz or Marzoni’s. Students were made to stand from the events beginning at 3 till the amount raised was revealed at 9. Students could participate in various activities, including trivia, video games, a volleyball tournament, face painting, dancing, and more. Food was also provided by many local businesses that donated.
This year’s mini-thon not only exceeded previous fundraising achievements but also reinforced the collective spirit and generosity of Bellwood-Antis. The event’s success reflects both the dedication of participants and the broader commitment to supporting those affected by cancer, setting a strong foundation for continued growth and impact in the years ahead.
