Payton Martin has recently committed to Penn State.
Payton is participating in the 2+2 program. Her first two years will be at Penn State Altoona, and she will finish her last two years at Penn State Main. She stated, “The 2+2 program is a great opportunity. I was relieved to be able to stay home with my family for 2 more years after graduation before I go up to State College without them.”
She is very excited about starting this new chapter in her life.
“I’m looking forward to connecting with the campus, whether it is new people or clubs. But I am more thrilled about a new environment,” stated Payton.
Payton is planning on majoring in English-Secondary Education.
Teaching is not new in her family, seeing that her father, Travis Martin, has been a teacher at Bellwood-Antis for many years.
“I have always had a passion for English and becoming a teacher ever since I was young, so I hope to make an impact on a future generation,” says Payton.
Penn State’s Education program also was a deciding factor in her commitment. “The education program they offer is a great foundation to begin my future in teaching,” she stated, “I have heard nothing but great things about Penn State’s College of Education, so it did not take long to decide on my commitment.”
We wish Payton the best of luck in her future plans and goals!
