The Blue Devil football team kicked off its 2015 season with “Meet the Devils” last Wednesday night.

The Varsity football team, whose season came to an end last November after a loss to Bishop Guilfoyle, only has six seniors this year, but the team is still hoping to have a good year.  The junior high football team is made up primarily of seventh graders but the team is still expected to have a strong season.

Coach John Hayes said he expects the young team to have a big year.

The band started the night off by playing “Iron Man,” one of the many songs from their Super Hero showcase.  Following the band’s performance the junior high and varsity cheerleaders showed off some of their new cheers for the season

After the teams were introduced they competed in games that the cheerleaders designed, like a water balloon toss and a relay race where they carried a football between their legs.  The varsity football team won both of the games, but not by much.

The Blue Devils will start the season Friday at home with the Backyard Brawl against Tyrone.  The junior high team will kick off the following morning at 10:30.
