Tuesday in Tyrone, the Tyrone/Bellwood-Antis co-op girls’ soccer team beat Philipsburg-Osceola with a score of 6-1.

Senior Raegan Plowman and Freshman Riley D’Angelo each scored two goals, while Senior Marissa Panasiti had a goal and an assist.

Now 2-0, the team has outscored its opposition 16-1.

“During the off-season, we really worked hard on making runs at the right times,” said D’Angelo. “We have executed them pretty well.”

At the end of the first half, the Lady Eagles were losing of 1-0.  But in the second half they scored six unanswered goals.  They also played terrific defense thanks to the Brynne Swogger, Brianna Reitter, and Christina Kowalski.

“We were down 2-0 at half time so we knew we had some work to. Eventually we got a rhythm and solidified our attack,” Panasiti said.

Kowalski added, “In the first half we weren’t really playing as a team, but in the second half we started playing as a team and we started to play better.”

Their next game will be Saturday at Central, at 10 A.M.
