Tina Kowalski and the Tyrone/Bellwood-Antis soccer team lost for the first time last weekend against Central.

Weekend Sports Report

The Tyrone/Bellwood-Antis girls’ co-op soccer team played Central on Saturday and lost in heartbreaking fashion, 5-3.

The Lady Eagles pulled into halftime tied at 1-1.

At the start of the second half the squad scored two goals and was up 3-1.  But Central came back and scored 4 unanswered goals.

Marissa Panasiti had 2 goals to put her season total at 6 goals.  The girls’ next game is Monday at Hollidaysburg.

The boys’ soccer team also played on Saturday at Bishop Carroll.

Noah D’Angelo and Blake Johnston each had 1 goal in a 3-0 win.

D’Angelo already has 5 goals in three games this season. Blake Johnston and Nic Mallory played fantastic defense for the Golden Eagles’ to preserve the shutout.

The boys’ next game is Monday at Huntington.
