Lots of surprises, but not all of them pleasant

Surprises as always in the second week of the NFL season.

This week in Fantasy was one of many surprises, like always. Players exploded off the charts like Buffalo Bills quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who obtained 29 fantasy points in a 32-40 loss against the Patriots. Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr scored a mighty 27.3 fantasy points against Baltimore in a huge win on Sunday. And Travis Benjamin had another exciting week.

In a surprise, Jacksonville wide receiver Allen Robinson scored 27.5 points this week.

Andrew Luck scored a disgusting 13 fantasy points in a loss to a mediocre Jets team.

Like always, there are some duds in everyone’s fantasy lineups, like LeGarrette Blount, who was projected to be in the Pats starting lineup and score 8.8, but only got 2 carries and finished the day with .4 points. Titans running back Bishop Sankey failed to impress anyone after his huge 30+ point week in Week 1. He got 12 carries for an awful 4.2 points and 2 targets but no receptions in the passing game.

I have no idea why, but it seems as though the Colts can’t play together as a team and win. Andrew Luck scored a disgusting 13 fantasy points in a loss to a mediocre Jets team on Monday night.

At the end of the day, Week 2 was full of surprises just like any other week in the world of fantasy sports. We play fantasy sports for the thrill that we get from guessing the right players to start.
