See you at the Pole
Today across the nation, students from all over – Bellwood-Antis included – gathered at their schools for the annual “See You at the Pole” prayer service before school.
“See you at the pole” started on April 6, 1990 when a small group of teenagers gathered in Burleson, Texas for a retreat. Now 25 years later there are millions of students across the nation and in other countries gathering on the fourth Wednesday of every September for the prayer service before school.
Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) hosts “See you at the pole” at Bellwood. There were over 70 people who showed up to the prayer service at 7 a.m., students, teachers, and community members included. The service was led by FCA President Nathan Davis and FCA Vice President Jake Burch.
Davis started the morning off with a Bible lesson that he shared with the entire group. After the lesson everyone who was there joined hands and had an opportunity to insert their own prayer. The morning service was ended when everyone prayed “The Lord’s Prayer” together.
Burch said, “It was great to see everyone joining together for the same purpose. It’s nice to see people stand for what they believe in.”
