Tuesday in co-op sports, the girls tennis team and the boys’ soccer team both picked up victories.

The Tyrone/Bellwood-Antis girl’s tennis team improve its record to 4-3 after beating the Huntingdon Bearcats 5 to 2.  The team picked up singles match wins from Tina Hollen, Marlena Wagner, and Erika Voyzey.

The team also picked up doubles match victories from Hollen and Wagner, and a doubles victory from from Hannah Klesius with Ericka Voyzey.

Klesius said she and the Tyrone senior Voyzey are playing well together.

“I was very happy with our performance. Erika and I have an understanding of how we expect each other to play.”

Also last evening the boy’s co-op soccer team picked up a win by defeating a Bellefonte Red Raiders team.

The boys won with a score of 3-0, earning a shutout victory.

Senior Noah D’ Angelo scored a pair of goals in the first half to give his team the advantage.

“I thought it went pretty well, and getting up 2-0 really helped,” he said on his first half performance.

Then, Senior Nic Mallory picked up a goal in the second half.

D’ Angelo was asked about the team’s performance and he said, “The Gatorade was cold, the fans were great, and it inspired us to get the win.”

Tyrone Senior Anthony Politza made 23 saves to keep the Red Raiders from putting up any numbers.
