Super Senior: Revel Southwell
Whenever you walk through the halls of your school, you can basically point out who everyone is. Some people you know more than others. One person that you can always look forward to seeing in the halls is Revel Southwell.
Not only is Revel the President of the Class of 2016, the star of Bellwood’s last school musical, but he is also this month’s Super Senior.
When you are around Revel, no matter what your mood, you can always look forward to him making you laugh. He is always in a great mood, and he always lifts everyone up around him.
When asked her opinion of Revel, Christina Kowalski said, “Revel is a great person and can brighten anyone’s day.”
Revel says he loves being a senior at Bellwood-Antis. Even though it is kind of a wake-up call for him,
when asked about high school, Revel shared many interesting things about his time here at Bellwood-Antis.
“My favorite memory from high school is definitely Luke and I’s first poetry slam victory. The comeback last year was fun, but the original was unforgettable,” Revel said.
Revel also shared that he has been impacted the most by Mr. Bower. He says that he never let him give up. He was like a father figure to him, and if he thought that Revel could do something, revel says that he didn’t give him a choice. He coached Revel in everything until he was at the top. Revel says he will never be able to give Mr. Bower enough credit for the things that he has achieved in chorus, speech, and theatre.
Revel’s favorite teacher is Mr. McMinn.
“He is very professional in his teaching, and he is someone that can get the message across to you in a firm, yet fun-to-discuss manner,” he said.
Outside of school, Revel also enjoys playing the piano, singing, and obsessing over the WWE.
When asked to describe himself Revel said, “I would say that I am very blunt. I love joking around and having fun, but I don’t beat around the bush. I’m a very straightforward person. I also consider myself a dealmaker. I love discussing deals with people and talking professionally.”
After school, Revel plans to attend college and get a Bachelor’s degree in music education.
