Last night, the Bellwood-Antis boys’ basketball team won against a tough Penns Valley team, with a final score of 62-54.

It was a tale of two halves, as the Blue Devils allowed Penns Valley to slow down the pace in the first half, only allowing B-A to score 26 points.

In the 2nd half, the Blue Devils sped up the game scoring 20 points in the fourth quarter alone.  Bellwood amped up the pressure to let their defense lead to offense, which led to some fastbreak lay-ups for B-A.

“We picked it up defensively and it led to a faster paced 2nd half which favored us,” said Senior Noah D’Angelo.  “Penns Valley is a disciplined team that likes to slow the pace of the game down.  We didn’t let them do that in the 2nd half.”

Senior Nathan Davis led B-A in scoring with 17 points and 10 boards, as Jarrett Tannehill had 12 points and 6 blocks, and Ethan McGee added 12 points on four 3-pointers.

The win improves B-A’s record to 12-2 on the year, with an ICC North showdown tonight against the 5-7 Juniata Valley Hornets.
