Taylor Shildt overpowered the Trojans on Tuesday.

The Bellwood-Antis softball team won yesterday against an overmatched Mount Union squad, with a final score of 11-1.

B-A was led by Taylor Shildt as she was the winning pitcher and held Mount Union in check for most of the game, striking out five people.

“We all hit the ball pretty well,” said Caroline Showalter.

Taylor Shildt, Laycee Clark, and Caroline Showalter all also contributed multiple hits.

With the win, Bellwood improved their record to 3-0, and they will look to continue their dominance tomorrow against Glendale.

The Bellwood-Antis baseball team also played yesterday, losing their second ICC game of the year. The Devils got shutout by Mount Union, 10-0.

It was a bleak day for the boys’ that couldn’t have been much worse.

Jack Showalter singled in the top of the fifth to break up the Mount Union no-hitter. Joey Padula was the only other base runner, but he reached twice on walks. The furthest the Devils made it all night was second base.

“Nothing went our way yesterday. We need to improve in all aspects to make a deep run this year,” said senior pitcher Cory Parson.

The baseball team’s overall record fell to 2-2 wit hthe loss and 1-2 in the league. The next game up for the boys’ will be Thursday, April 7th at home.
