Saige McElwain and the rest of the softball team have been producing runs in bunches.

The Blue Devil softball team dominated Moshannon valley 14-1 as they kept their perfect record intact at 5-0.

Taylor Shildt, who was a homerun away from batting for the cycle, pitched a three-hitter for B-A. Shildt struck out 13 batters in the ICC matchup while only walking one.

“It feels good to be undefeated because last year at this point we had lost to West Branch and Mount Union,” said Shildt. “This shows that our hard work has paid off.”

Caroline Showalter had a triple and a homerun as she drove in four runs for the Blue Devils.

The Blue Devils have now won three games by at least 10 runs, and they are averaging more than 12 runs per game. They have yet to be held below 11 runs.

“We’re all hitting the ball hard and we’re getting the runs to prove it,” said Caroline Showalter.

Shildt, Krystina Taylor, Maddie Miller, Myranda Mamat, and Saige McElwain each added two hits apiece.

The softball team will be back in action tomorrow at 10 a.m. when they host Tyrone in Backyard Brawl action.
