The Bellwood-Antis softball team defeated ICC rival West Branch 7-2 yesterday to keep their perfect record alive.

“We’ve had to play some tough teams, but we pull through to get the clutch wins,” said Laycee Clark.

Maddie Miller was in the circle for the Blue Devils who are now 8-0. Miller, who pitched the entire game for B-A, gave up only three hits with two runs.

Bellwood had 15 hits as a team with Taylor Shildt and Caroline Showalter leading the way with three hits apiece. Laycee Clark added two RBI’s as she helped B-A get the win.

“Our batting gets us the runs but our defense ultimately wins the game for us,” said Caroline Showalter.

B-A jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning before the Warriors cut it in half in the top of the second.

The Devils put the game away with a 3-spot in the bottom of the fourth to go up 7-1.

The Blue Devils next game is today when they travel to Juniata Valley.
