B-A track continues to impress

The Bellwood-Antis girls and boys track teams got wins yesterday over both McConnellsburg and West Branch, with the B-A boys beating West Branch, 113-37, and McConnellsburg, 96-54. The Lady Blue Devils got wins over West branch, 111-39, and McConnellsburg, 99-51.
The B-A boys got a major amount of points in the 1600 Meter Run and 3200 Meter Run, sweeping both events. Robert Vankirk grabbed a first for Bellwood in both events with Brayton Coover placing second in both events. Hayden McClellan placed third in the 1600 and Corey George placed third in the 3200.
Bellwood continued their dominance in jumping events yesterday, with a sweep in High Jump, with place-finishers in both the Long Jump and the Triple Jump. Matt Glunt won High Jump, as well as placing second in the Long Jump. Clay Engle placed second in the High Jump, second in the Triple Jump, and finished third in the Long Jump. Luke Hollingshead finished out the sweep for B-A in the High Jump and Tanner Worthing placed third in the Triple Jump.
The B-A Pole Vaulters also got a sweep, with Lucas Tuggy grabbing first with a 10’6, Ryan Beam placed second with 10’0, and Justin Gunsallus placed third with a 9’6.
Jarrett Taneyhill threw his way to a first with a 159-5 in Javelin, as well as Noah D’Angelo claiming first in the 800 Meter Run.
B-A also had an excellent showing in their relay teams, with the 4×400 Relay team of Tanner Worthing, Shawn Wolfe, Noah D’Angelo, and Nathan Davis taking first, and the 4×800 Relay team of Zach Taylor, Hayden McClellan, Robert Vankirk, and Noah D’Angelo placing first as well.
The Bellwood girls’ had some strong showings in their victory yesterday as well, with Marissa Panasiti placing second in the 100 Meter Dash, 200 Meter Dash, and the 400 Meter Dash.
The Lady Blue Devils got a sweep in the 1600 Meter run with Ragaen Plowman placing first, followed by Elizabeth Whaley and Jenna Bartlett respectively.
Raegan Plowman also won the 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:35.7.
B-A also had strong performances in the 300 Hurdles, with Kenna Kerns taking first, Abby Luensmann in second, and Aubrey Reiter in third. Abby also placed second in the 110 Hurdles with Kenna Kerns coming in third.
The girls also swept all the relay events with wins in the 4×100 Relay(Paige Wenner, Sophie Damiano, Brynne Swogger, and Karson Swogger), 4×400 Relay(Riley D’Angelo, Sophie Damiano, Cassidy Shawley, and Elizabeth Whaley), and the 4×800 Relay(Riley D’Angelo, Elizabeth Whaley, Stephanie Mills, and Raegan Plowman).
Kamryn Mercer performed in the High Jump taking first place with a jump of 4-6.
Tara Baker was a star performwer in field for Bellwood, taking first in both Discus and Shot Put.
Bellwood continued their dominance by also securing the sweep in Pole Vault with Alexis Gerwert, McKenna Mayers, and Adison Clemente taking first, second, and third respectively.
Both Bellwood track teams improved to 10-2 on the year and will look to continue their winning ways Monday against Tyrone.
