Bellwood lost a close one Friday night with a 3-2 decision against the 9-2 Juniata Valley Hornets.

B-A struck first, scoring one run in the first inning when, thanks to a passed ball, Joey Padula was able to come across the plate for a run.

But Juniata Valley was quick to strike back, scoring one run in the second inning and one run in the third inning.

In the sixth inning, Bellwood managed to push across another run. Trent Walker drove in Jordan McCracken to tie the game, 2-2.

Unfortunately, Juniata Valley was able to score a run in the top of the seventh inning to put them on top, and win the game, as B-A was unable to even the game up in the bottom of the inning.

The loss drops the Blue Devils’ record to 6-6 on the year, and 5-4 in the ICC. B-A needs 10 wins to participate in the District 6-AA playoffs.
