Monday, the Bellwood-Antis track teams were in action at Tyrone, continuing the Backyard Brawl series.

The B-A girls won with a final score of 79-71, thanks to stellar performances from some of the Bellwood girls.

Unfortunately, the Blue Devil boys were not as lucky as they lost to Tyrone, 104-46. It was the first win for the Golden Eagles in the last 15 years of the series.

Marissa Panasiti had wins in the 100, 200, and 400 Meter Dashes, as well as having a part in the winning 4×400 meter Relay team that includes herself, Sophie Damiano, Raegan Plowman, and Riley D’Angelo.

Plowman also took first in both the 800 meter Run as well as the 1600 Meter Run, while D’Angelo also placed second in the 1600 Meter Run.

B-A also had strong performances in the 3200 meter run, where Elizabeth Whaley took first and Jenna Bartlett took third.

Bellwood pole vaulters continued to perform well with a sweep, led by Alexis Gerwert, who took first as she soared over 10-0. McKenna Mayers and Adison Clemente placed second and third, respectively.

The Lady Blue Devils also performed well in triple jump with Karson Swogger jumping her way to first with 29-10, while Abby Luensmann grabbed second with a 29-8.

The 4×800 Relay team of Riley D’Angelo, Stephanie Mills, Kara Engle, and Elizabeth Whaley also took first for B-A yesterday.

On the boys side, B-A relay teams continued to outperform the competition as the Blue Devils, without Jake Burch, still managed victories in the 4X400 (Shawn Wolf, Noah D’Angelo, and Tanner Worthing, and Nathan Davis) and 4X100 relays (Devin Burr, Worthing, D’Angelo, Davis)

The Blue Devils’ high jumpers continued a strong season, sweeping the event with Matt Glunt taking first after leaping to a height of 6’2”.  Luke Hollingshead was second and Clay Engle third.

Jarrett Taneyhil, while placing in the 110 hurdles, was the winner in the javelin with a toss just over 153 feet.
