B-A still undefeated

The Bellwood-Antis softball team continued its dominance with a close win over Northern Bedford Friday in Loysburg. The game went to 8 innings with the Lady Devils coming out on top, 5-3.
It’s a quality of almost every team to have a solid backbone of juniors and seniors leading. It’s something extra special to have young players contribute in big ways.
Freshman Krystina Taylor was the hero of the day, hitting a triple in the top of the eighth. The hit scored Caroline Showalter, and Taylor scored on an error that same play, giving the Lady Devils a 2-run lead that they wouldn’t give up.
Taylor Shildt pitched a flawless bottom half of the inning, securing the win. She pitched a complete game, striking out 12.
Taylor finished with a pair of triples and three hits total.
Saige McElwain also added two hits for Lady Devils.
“It was close game, which was good for us. It gave us all experience in that type of game, which will be huge down the stretch,” said Shiwalter on the victory.
Bellwood’s record is now 12-0. Its next game is today against Philipsburg-Oscceola.
