The Bellwood-Antis baseball team got an important 6-1 victory over Williamsburg on senior night.

With the win over Williamsburg B-A improved its record to 10-7 and is now on its way to District 6-AA playoffs.

Left-handed pitcher Cory Parson helped the team get the win while pitching a two hitter. Parson also struck eight while only allowing one walk and one unearned run.

“It felt really good to go out and get a crucial win and clinching a playoff spot,” said Parson. “We’re getting hot at the right time and it feels good to have a four game win streak this late in the season.”

Parson upped his record to 5-2.

In a game that was three up and three down most innings, Bellwood was able to get something going for them in the fourth. B-A scored four of the six runs in the fourth thanks to RBI’s from Joe Padula, Nevin Wood and Trent Walker.

B-A then added their final two runs in the bottom of the sixth. The Blue Devils had six hits in their victory yesterday.

The Blue Devils will be back in action Thursday when they travel to Moshannon Valley.
