The Bellwood-Antis track teams competed in the West Central Coaches Meet at Altoona’s Mansion Park Stadium on Friday.

Marissa Panasiti was the star for Bellwood as she placed first in the 400 meter dash in one of the biggest meets in Pennsylvania. The meet features the top big school and small school teams in West Central Pennsylvania broken into two classifications of competition.

It is annually a strong precursor to the District 6 championship meet.

“I had already raced against some of the girls and I knew it was going to be close,” said Panasiti.  “I told myself that I needed to run the best race of my life and I ended up winning.”

Marissa also placed sixth in the 200 meter dash.  She will look to continue her success this week in the ICC championship and the District 6 meet next week as well.

Nathan Davis also performed well at the meet, with a third place finish in the 400 meter dash.

The B-A jumpers continued their phenomenal season as Matt Glunt placed fifth in the long jump and, Clay Engle jumped his way to a sixth place in the triple jump.

The relay team of Nathan Davis, Noah D’Angelo, Devin Burr, and Tanner Worthing placed eighth in the 4×100 relay.

The relay team of Marissa Panasiti, Sophie Damiano, Riley D’Angelo, and Raegan Plowman placed eighth as well in 4×400 relay.
