On Wednesday night, February 26, Bellwood-Antis’ band hosted cabaret night with the cast of the upcoming musical, Little Shop Of horrors. The event sold tickets to a spaghetti dinner to raise money for the band and offset some of the cost of the musical’s props and costumes. While the exact total has not been calculated yet, band director Patrick Sachse estimates the total to be close to $700. The spaghetti dinner included spaghetti and meatballs with sauce provided by DelGrossos, a salad, drink, dessert, and of course music and singing from the band and musical cast.
This year was the 3rd annual cabaret night for the band. It started in 2016 when Olive Garden donated meals as part of the band’s fundraiser. Since then the event has evolved, now including the musical cast. Students are allowed to pick the pieces they wish to play and sing, “It becomes both a great fundraiser and a great learning opportunity.” Mr. Sachse remarked.
