The Bellwood-Antis prom is taking place April 24, and prom advisor Mrs. Holly Carney recently issued several reminders for students planning to attend.
Prom will take place at the Discovery Center in downtown Altoona from 7:30-10:30 p.m. This is a change from the last several years when prom was held at the Casino in Lakemont. Doors open at 7.
Other important information includes:
- You can register with Mrs. Carney in room (202) starting March 30th until April 10th.
- The cost is $35.00 per person.
- Money is due when you register. If paying by check, make payable to BAHS Class of 2027.
- Manning Photography will be available for students to get one free photo. All other photos can be purchased from their website.
Mrs. Carney shared some important information regarding guests from outside of Bellwood-Antis High School.
“Guest must be at least in 9th grade and no older than 20 years old,” she said. “If you are bringing a guest who goes to a different high school or a guest who has already graduated, there is an extra paper that needs filled out.”
These forms are outside of Mrs. Carney’s room (202) and need to be turned in when you register. Guests that are not a current BA student will require photo ID, and graduated guests need to make arrangements to get their ID scanned at the greeter station sometime before the day of prom.
Further details include:
- You must attend school on the day of prom.
- Early dismissals will be granted to those attending beginning at 11:00am with an excuse from a parent.
Principal Mr. Richard Schreier also noted several details relating to student discipline requirements in order to attend prom.
“According to the handbook: weekly ineligibility does not keep you from attending, but you cannot attend if you have 6-plus disciplinary infractions, more than three ISS/OSS, or multiple illegal/unexcused absences,” he said.
Come dance, take selfies with props, and eat snacks with friends.
