A big game from senior Nate Friedenberger would boost the Devils tonight against Williamsburg.

After thrashing Moshannon Valley 49-13 last week the B-A Blue Devils improved their record to 4-1 and remained undefeated in the ICC (4-0).

This week Bellwood-Antis will be challenged by a Williamsburg team that will enter the contest fresh off of a 45-0 shutout of Tussey Mountain and also is boasting a 4-1 record.

Williamsburg is looking to take B-A’s seat atop the ICC. However, like so many times in the past when teams  have come for the Blue Devils throne, Bellwood-Antis will look to humble the latest contender.

Williamsburg’s four wins this year come against teams with a combined 3-17 record.

In one game against an above-.500 team, the 3-2 Juniata Valley Hornets, Williamsburg lost 29-20.

The team that can control the run game will have a big advantage in the game tonight.

B-A will look to continue to improve their rushing attack, as they ran for 357 yards last week with Seniors Duke Brunner and Sawyer Kline both surpassing the 100 yard mark. Brunner leads the team with 331 yards on 72 carries, while Kline has run for 228 yards.

But the Devils can move the ball beyond its ground game.

Jarrett Taneyhill and B-A’s receivers have been the Devil’s main offensive weapon. Taneyhill went over the 1,000-yard mark as a passer last week and has thrown 13 touchdown passes. His top targets are seniors Nate Friedenberger (233 yards) and Brendan Kowalski (356 yards).

Williamsburg, which has already run the ball 222 times this season, has rushed for a total of 1,467 yards including a 444 yard outburst last week.

Quarterback Aden McMonagle is the Pirates biggest weapon, running for almost 500 yards while passing for 267.

Rashadd Knorr is another playmaker, with nearly 400 rushing yards and 145 yards receiving.

While the Pirates ground attack could allow them to shorten the game and squeeze out a victory, B-A’s offensive diversity should swing the tide in favor of the Devils.
