Jordan McCracken had a nice day during a big Blue Devils’ win.

The Bellwood-Antis baseball team continued its up-and-down season yesterday with a 12-2 win over Moshannon Valley. It’s been a common occurrence for the Devils, either 10-run ruling a team or getting 10-run ruled itself.

The ability to go on winning streaks to gain confidence is important in any sport. Junior Jordan McCracken knows that his team has to pick it up.

“We have not been consistent at all. We are not used to getting 10-runned,” said McCracken. “It has a lot to do with being young. We are inexperienced in some areas. We have been putting a bat on the ball but it’s just been going right to the other team.”

Joey Padula picked up 2 hits and 2 RBI’s to go along with 3 runs scored.

Noah Burns, Nevin Wood, and McCracken all added 2 RBI’s as well.

Blake Johnston pitched a gem, striking out 6 and only allowing 1 hit on his way to the victory.

“Games like this are a good sign. We have heart and know that we can do it. We just need to play together in all aspects to make it back to the D-6 Championship,” added McCracken.

The Blue Devils record rose to 5-4 with the win. Its’ next game will be on Monday, April 18 away at Claysburg.
