LESSONS FROM THE MAN UPSTAIRS
September 15, 2017
A few weeks ago, I bought my mom one of those faceless angels, I think they’re called Willow Tree? Ah, yes! Anyways, the name of the one I bought for her was named “courage.” Every morning from that day we wake up and throw our arms in the air and repeat that word to each other, to remind ourselves that even in the tough times throughout the day, we should remember to have courage, to be fearless.
We all have things we’re afraid of, right? For example, I’m deathly afraid of spiders, and on occasion, heights. Other than that, I’ve taught myself to not be scared of anything. I’ve slowly learning to give all my fears up to God because I don’t need to be afraid of anything when I know He’s got my whole life planned out!
You may not think so, but He has every moment, down to the second, of your life planned out! Crazy, I know, but true! He knows exactly what you’re going to do, say, and think next. We must learn to be comforted in knowing this. It is so relaxing to know that someone has your whole life planned out and knows how everything is going to play out. So, it brings me back to my first point. Why be afraid?
Since He knows everything that is going to happen to us and has us in the palm of His hand, there is no reason to be afraid. We can all learn to be fearless. We can all learn to wake up every single day and not be afraid of what is going to come. Because guess what? He already knows what’s up and what’s down.
Now, sometimes, it’s hard to wake up and not be afraid of the day ahead. It’s difficult to wake up every morning and not be a little apprehensive. However, over time, we must learn to realize that He has got this. He’s got this! He’s got this! He’s got this all under control so we don’t have to be fearful of what’s to come. You don’t need to be scared of the day ahead because He’s got this.
If you haven’t retained a single word I’ve said throughout this article, remember this:
Hebrews 13:5-6, 8
“…For God has said, ‘I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.’ So we can say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?’ Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
