Seventh grader Alivia Jacobs recently won the title of Miss Junior Teen Pennsylvania International.  The annual pageant was held at the Jaffa Shrine on April 5th, 2014.

Phase one of the competition included writing an essay about the community service Alivia performed, followed by formal wear.

Each candidate campaigns on a platform of community service, and Alivia’s platform is Breast Cancer Awareness.

“As Miss Jr. PA, I will make tons of appearances and raise money for my platform,” Alivia said.

Appearances she will participate in include parades and sporting events. Alivia will be at an Altoona Curve game in June to kick off an annual breast cancer walk.

Alivia has competed in other pageants and wants to compete more as she gets older.

“I will still continue to compete in future pageants when my term is over,” she said. “My favorite part of pageants is being on stage. I like to be on stage and have people look up to me.”

Alivia’s term lasts for one year.
