Blue Devil Track Team Bounces Back
The Bellwood-Antis boys’ track and field team beat rival Tyrone and Mt. Union at Memorial stadium on April 24, to rebound from its first dual meet loss in five seasons.
They beat Tyrone with a final score of 94-56 and Mt. Union 134-16.
Senior Alex Bartlett and junior Matt McMillen both brought the boys team outstanding victories, with Bartlett winning both the 1600- and 3200-meter runs and McMillen winning both the 110- and 300-meter hurdles. Kyler Lardieri won the 400-meter dash.
Coach Lovrich said, “I thought yesterday’s wins were a good bounce back day for us. When you win 83 straight dual meets and that streak is snapped you are not sure how the kids will respond. They did a great job on Thursday. They wanted to start a new streak and it is always great when it happens against your biggest rival.”
