On Wednesday, September 26 at 7 a.m., the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is hosting its annual See you at the Pole event.

See You at the Pole is a morning where all student, teachers, and faculty across the country can gather together around the flag pole to pray for their school, community, and each other. B-A students will be led by Owen Shaulis, FCA president, in prayer at the flag pole outside the high school gymnasium.

“I’m extremely blessed to lead such a great group of students. See You at the Pole is an awesome Bellwood tradition, and I’m glad we can keep it going,” said Shaulis.

“We think it is important to start the year off with this event. It allows a lot of people to come together for a good cause, and we will have the event rain or shine,” said Mr. Nick Lovrich, the teacher adviser for FCA.

See You at the Pole is a national event, and students and faculty all over America gather together one morning each year to pray for their nation, community, and school. It first started at B-A in 1998.

When Mr. Lovrich became the FCA adviser only 10-15 students attended, and now more than 100 students attend each year. Every year the goal is to have more and more people to gather and pray before school.

“Getting the whole school together and not just FCA members to practice our faith gives us the chance to reach others. Hopefully we can start everyone’s day with positivity and prayer,” said Shaulis.

If it rains Wednesday morning the event will be held in the high school gymnasium.
