Former West Virginia Assistant Attorney General and Bellwood Antis High School graduate Stanley M. Hostler, was the guest speaker at the 1989 graduation ceremony.

In Hostler speech he said, “Success vs. Failure,” he was a 1945 graduate of BAHS and received a bachelor’s degree in history from Gettysburg college, a master degree in history from PSU, a doctorate of jurisprudence from WVU and the graduate program, and Comparative Labor Law from Oxford University in England.

From 1965-1966, Hostler served as the Assistant Attorney General for the state of West Virginia as well as the director of the Institute of Labor Studies at the West Virginia University. He also served in the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army, and finally he is a member of the American Bar Association and the West Virginia State Bar Association.
