This week’s artist of the week is Jayce Miller. Jayce, along with three other students, were selected for District Chorus last week after auditioning at Chestnut Ridge High School.

Jayce stated, “I am very excited! Making District Chorus as a sophomore is a pretty big deal!”

This is the second time Jayce has been Artist of the Week.

Jayce has been singing for as long as she can remember, but three years ago she started taking lessons. Her uncle was a great musician and singer, and he inspired her to follow in his footsteps.

Jayce is a majorette and will also be in this year’s school musical.

Along with singing, she has been playing the piano for about 11 years.

Jayce said she practiced very hard on her audition piece for District auditions.

“It was a very hard song to learn, so it took a lot of work,” she said.

Outside of school, Jayce is very artistic and likes to do special effects makeup, drawing, and painting.

“Jayce is talented, musically gifted, and has a persistent work ethic that secures her success,”says chorus teacher Mrs. Beth Hall.
