BA History 101: Jaycee Safe Tractor Driving contest
Safe tractor driving was a challenge for B-A ag students in the 1970s.
Ffty years ago on September 23, 1970 students at Bellwood-Antis High School competed in the fifth annual Jaycee Safe Tractor Driving contest; held in conjunction with the farm show, it went down at the high school bus garage.
This year due to CIVID-19, FFA and ag students will not be able to attend the farm show because it has already been cancelled, along with the land judging, one of the FFA’s biggest contests.
B-A also doesn’t participate in a safe tractor driving contest anymore, but last year for one of the school’s theme days there was “bring your tractor to school.”
