(From left to right) Fraith Patton, Emilie Leidig, Evan Pellegrine and Jackson Boyer each committed to play college sports next year at a signing ceremony on Wednesday.

College is a big step for every student and it takes a lot to pick a college that you feel is the right fit for you. However, picking your school becomes even more important when you are deciding to play a sport in college.

Bellwood has been notorious for producing good athletes who are able to play at the next level. This year Bellwood will be sending four athletes to further their academic and athletic careers. These students will be recognized on Wednesday, April 28 at a signing day for all the athletes. which will be held in the media center.

The athletes who will be signing are Dakota Woomer, who will be playing volleyball at Lycoming University; Owen Shedlock, who will be signing to play football for Lycoming University as well; and Zach Miller, who will be signing to play basketball for Waynesburg University.

The signing day is a great way for the students to be recognized for their hard work and dedication to both athletics and academics. However, the signing will only be open to their family and siblings due to COVID restrictions.

The signings should be tons of fun and we wish everyone the best in furthering their education and athletic career.
