Zach Pellegrine threw for more than 200 yards and three touchdowns in the first game of the 2021 season.

Senior Zach Pellegrine is the quarterback on the Bellwood-Antis football team and his big game helped lead the devils to victory over the Tyrone Golden Eagles.

Last week at the game against Tyrone, Zach had completed 8 of 11 passes, threw 228 yards, and scored 3 touchdowns.

Because of his performance, he was chosen as the BluePrint’s Athlete of the Week.

“I felt good about it, but at the same time I feel like there’s a lot I could improve on and us as a team could improve on,” said Zach.

Though Pellegrine was humble about his big game, Coach Nick Lovrich felt it was outstanding.

“Zach played an excellent game last week.  He took advantage of what the defense was giving up,” Coach Lovrich said.  “His receivers did a great job catching the ball and the line gave him great protection so his performance was definitely as result of a lot of teammates support.  I thought he did a good job of being a leader out there on offense.”

Last season Pellegrine completed 39 of 76 passes, scored 10 touchdowns. He’s hoping to have an even bigger season this year.

“Our goal is to win the ICC championship, and make it to Mansion Park to play for the district champions. We also need to improve every week of the season.” says Zach

Zach also plays baseball and basketball with Bellwood-Antis.

“I attended weightlifting, conditioning, and went t0 a lot of 7 on7’s.” Zach says after asked how he prepared in the offseason.
