ARTIST OF THE WEEK: Jayce Miller

JoJo Caswell

Jayce Miller is a standout as a singer and as a majorette.

Though she is relatively new to the game, Jayce Miller has taken to baton twirling like a fish to water.

Miller was nominated by band instructor Mr. Sachse for Artist of the Week.

Jayce has been a majorette since her 9th grade year.

“I saw signs in the hallway advertising the majorette squad, and I thought it would be fun. I hadn’t picked up a baton until the first day of band camp,” says Jayce when asked about what influenced her to join majorettes.

Jayce’s favorite part of majorettes is the people that she meets. She says that other schools bands are very kind and make the games more fun.

“My goals are to improve this season and help recruit people for next year,” she says.

Along with being a majorette Jayce is also an amazing singer.

Jayce has been singing and preforming in musicals since 4th grade.

Her favorite part of singing is challenging herself. Jayce will be auditioning for district chorus this year.

As a sophomore, Jayce made it all the way to regionals.
