November 22, 2021
The Bellwood-Antis Christmas tree lighting will be held Monday, November 22 in the parking lot of the library. The Bellwood-Antis chorus and marching band will be preforming.
Music director Mrs. Beth Hull will be conducting the chorus as they sing a selection of a Christmas melodies, while Mr. Patrick Sachse will be guiding the band.
The tree lighting starts at 6:30 in front of the town Library.
The tradition of the Christmas tree lighting for Bellwood-Antis has been around for nearly 70 years, though last year it was put to a stop due to COVID.
After the tree is lit, a special someone will be paying a visit. He will ride down Bellwood’s main street in one of the firetrucks supplied by the Excelsior fire department.
The start of the Christmas tree lighting was in 1954 on the north side of town, supervised by Dean Evans. The people of Bellwood stood in a horse shoe singing Christmas Carols.
Other groups participating tonight include Tipton Baptist preschool and pre-K, Mountain Laurel preschool and pre-K,
