Last week senior Cameron Wood had 11 carries for 154 rushing yards and scored 4 touchdowns in a 47-6 win against Glendale. This is why he is the BluePrint’s Athlete of the Week.

Wood averages 93.8 rushing yards a game, and is bound to break 1,000 rushing yards this year. Along with his 18 touchdowns, about 2 per game, Wood has 219 kick return yards.

Blueprint: How do you prepare for games? The opponent?

Wood: I look to have a good week at practice and mentally and physically prepare myself.

Blueprint: How long have you been playing football? Why do you play?

Wood: I’ve been playing football since I was seven. I really enjoy the sport and being a part of a team.

Blueprint: How do you think the football team will do next season after the seniors this year leave?

Wood: I think they will have to step up and fill in the roles that this year’s seniors are leaving behind. They have the talent to do it.

Blueprint: How do you feel about what you’ve accomplished so far?

Wood: I feel I have accomplished some things, but there is always room for improvement.

Blueprint: Do you view this season different since you’re a senior?

Wood: Yes, because this is the last chance I’ll get to be a Blue Devil, and I need to treat every game like it’s the last. Before I know it, it will be the last.
