Welcome back to Chalked Up. This week’s blog is all about my meet on Saturday, January 15th.

On Friday, most of us arrived at Pitt around 3:30, and the rest of the team later on. We had a team dinner and then got to bed early so we were ready to compete the next day.

I woke up around 7:30 a.m. to be ready to head to my weigh-ins at 9:00 a.m. Afterwards, we ate breakfast and waited till 11, when we could start warming up.

I was about 30 out for snacthes so I had to wait a little longer to start my warm ups. When it was finally time to warm up, I started with an empty barbell. After that, I did 30kg, 35kg,37kg,39kg,41kg,43kg, and then 46kg.

When it was finally time for my first attempt, I sat beside the platform till the weight was loaded. I hit my opener at 48kg, my second attempt at 50kg, and my last attempt at 52kg, which was a meet PR and tied my snatch PR.

After snatches, we waited a couple minutes until it was time to begin clean and jerks. When we finally started warming up, I was about 30 out again.

I started with an empty barbell for clean and jerks as well. After empty barbell I hit 35kg, 40kg, 45kg, 50kg, 53kg, 56kg, 58kg, and then 61kg.

After hitting my last warm up I sat beside the platform, again waiting till the weight was loaded. I hit my opener at 63kg and my second attempt at 65kg. I then missed my third attempt at 68kg.

I ended up going five for six, placing first, and being awarded the Best Lifter award in my session. Although I feel I could have easily fixed my jerk at 68kg, I was happy with my performance at this meet.
