8th Grade student wins the Adam Holiday Chapter NSDAR essay contest

Chloe Stoltzfus earned first place in a an essay contest recently.

One Bellwood-Antis Middle School student won a special award for her essay skills this week.

Chloe Stotzlfus,  who is in eighth grade, wrote the winning essay for the middle school division of the DAR essay contest.

Chloe’s essay was on what the The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier means to her.

“We were both happily surprised but not completely because she had written a great essay,” said Mrs. Kathy Taylor, who entered Chloe in the contest.

Mrs. Taylor said Chloe completed the written portion of the contest in November and heard back from contest organizers in March.

She earned recognized at a luncheon at the Hollidaysburg Library on Saturday, April 23. Her essay will be forwarded to the next level of the competition.
