Lexi Lovrich is looking to use a successful cross country season as a springboard to track glory in the spring.

Lexi Lovrich started out her senior year a little different than past years. This year, rather than head to the high school in the summer for hours of volleyball camps and practices, she decided to join the cross country team.

So far she has run in three races for the school. Lexi came in 1st place at her first home cross country race of the season last week, defeating runners from Moshannon Valley and Williamsburg.

For her accomplishments Lovrich has been named BluePrint’s Athlete of the Week.

Lexi started running cross country because she felt it would help her reach all of her goals for track, She also wants to run in college. In fact, Lexi took a visit to Saint Francis in the summertime to look at the team.

Lexi prepared for the season in the summer running a lot and lifting in the mornings.

Lexi’s favorite part about running cross country is that every course is unique. Her favorite races she has done are the Shippensburg Invitational, the B-A Invitational, and the Canoe Creek Triathlon.

The girls cross country team is 1-1 and their next race is at Mount Union against Mount Union and Southern Fulton where they look to improve to a 3-1 record in the I.C.C.

Congratulations to Lexi Lovrich for being named Athlete of the Week
